Introducing Paul Gabrail

Paul Gabrail is an astute investor whose wealth-building strategy relies on value investing. He is the founder and host at Everything Money, a digital show investment education YouTube channel that teaches his audience how to build long-term wealth through stocks, real estate, and business development. Paul loves teaching the proper mindset, emotions, and process to be a value investor.

From Iraq to England to the United States

Born in Mosul, Iraq, in 1981, Paul and his family moved to England when he was six weeks old. His parents, both doctors, received extra training while in England. Three years later, while “vacationing” in the United States, the family sought and received political asylum.

The family moved around in the States for six years until settling in Canton, Ohio, in 1990.

A Young Investor

Paul attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and started investing during the Internet go-go days of the late 1990s. He participated in an investment club and became familiar with billionaire Warren Buffett and something clicked in him. Paul realized that what he was doing was no longer investing but speculating. Buying a stock meant he was investing in a piece of a business. Once Paul had that “aha” moment, investing became a totally different game for him.

He graduated from the University of Michigan in 2003 with a degree in Economics and in 2004, started what eventually became The Crossroads Group, investing in apartments in the Ohio area. He also purchased homes, renovated and rented them. His younger brother is now the CEO of The Crossroads Group.

Always a step ahead, while everyone shied away from real estate and stocks in what they considered toxic investments during the Great Financial Crisis in 2007-2008, Paul invested heavily in both buying hundreds of apartments and millions of dollars in stocks. His play paid off.

An Agnostic Approach to Real Estate and Stock Investments

Paul continues expanding his real estate portfolio, with plans to purchase two lake homes as rental properties and he just closed on a 200-unit apartment complex in Louisville, Kentucky. His successful approach involves looking at what he can purchase and what rental prices he can get. It’s also about finding great deals others don’t see due to low rents. While others might pass up on these properties, he sees them as opportunities.

Paul Gabrail also continues to purchase stocks, preferring those out of favor or with temporary issues but with staying power. His choice of stock investments is based on their potential for future cash flow, with the expectation that he will get a higher-than-normal market return. This is what makes these stocks a good investment opportunity.

Unlike other investors, Paul’s choice of stock purchases is not based on his personal feelings, which is also reflected in his strategy in real estate investments.

Paul’s successful investments have been recognized and sought after. Several publications have interviewed him and he has written on related subject matters in The Property Investor.

Everything Money

Paul shares his successful strategies on his YouTube show, “Everything Money.” His community of followers learn how to look at stocks as buying a piece of a business and not a ticker that goes up and down. They learn to evaluate the financials of a business and how to make assumptions on a companies future growth, examine real estate deals, and how to excel in their business with development strategies. He explains how he operates over 1,000 real estate units in Ohio, Indiana, Texas, Mexico, Turks & Caicos, Ireland, and Scotland through careful, calculated investment strategies.

“Everything Money” began as a podcast in 2018 and, in 2020, launched on YouTube. It has grown immensely in the last four years. Paul has over 265,000 subscribers and 2,7000 videos. Topics include everything from “Become an Intelligent Investor” to “5 Stocks I’m Buying in August 2024, “3 Stocks to Buy Near 52-Week Low” and many more.

Chess Is His Flex

In addition to his investment addiction, Paul Gabrail loves playing chess. He is currently rated 1750 on chess.com. He plays daily, averaging 300 games per month. Since April 15, 2016, he has only missed one day of chess. He also likes Twitter polls.

When it comes to sports, Paul is an avid fan of University of Michigan football, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Paul considers the Cleveland Cavaliers’ comeback from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Golden State Warriors for the 2016 NBA championship title one of the best days of his life.

On the Personal Side

Paul currently resides in Moreland Hills, a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. He is married to Lisa, who has three children from her previous marriage and one grandchild. He and his wife travel extensively and consider London their favorite city in the world to visit.

He is also an uncle to his younger brother’s three nieces.

When asked if he would retire, given all that he has accomplished by age 43, Paul says he already considers himself retired. He does what he wants to do every single day with incredible flexibility.
